Our Horses

Below you will find some information and pictures of horses owned, or co-owned by Stephanie Smith/Four Socks Farm. Some of these horses may be for sale, so make sure you check the sales page. We will also occasionally have some of our clients horses listed on our sales page as well.

CG Cantata

2001 Chestnut ISR registered mare.

Cantata came here in 2008 for training with the idea that she was going "home-- Cedar Grove Sporthorses in Martinsburg, WV" in two years.  Well, Cantata is now one of our best producing broodmares, because I simply could not let her leave! Cantata really enjoys hard work, and lots of fun as well. She has a lot of scope, and a beautiful rhythmic trot and canter. Her extended trot is ground hovering, and has a lot of power.

After only 5 months of training (breaking) Cantata was taken to her second horse show, the VA State 4H Horse and Pony show in Lexington, Virginia, where the judges just loved her! She came home with ribbons in every class, most important was her 2nd place over the entire 13-16yo age group on large horses in hunter pleasure.

Cantatas full sister "CG Conundrum" is basically an exact replica of her! They both have that amazing extended trot with very rhythmic and powerful gaits! Both Cantata and Conundrum were premium at their oldenburg inspections.

We are very pleased to have Cantata as part of our program, and are looking forward to our next foal out of her.

Zingara

2003 chestnut KWPN mare

Sired by Jazz (Coctail out of Charmante)

Zingara came to us with the same situation as Cantata, except she was supposed to go home after 4  months of full training. Zingara is a young mare and will be bred in 2010 for her first foal. She has a lot of suspension, and a very free shoulder.

We are very excited to see what Zingara will produce in 2011.

Gold Finish   (for sale or lease)

2006 Jockey Club registered Palomino --

Pedigree

Up and coming Palomino colt, with brains, exceptional movement, and great conformation!

Finn is a very sweet boy, and is everything you would want to breed your mare to if you were looking for an athletic foal! He is very good movement, with a super topline, and strong drive from behind.

He will be put under saddle early to spring of 09, and will show in the hunters summer of 09. Finn has everything going for him, as his sire (GP's Krugerrand) has proven to be an exceptional show horse with championships in dressage, and hunters (o/f and u/s). GP's Krugerrands sire is Glitter Please, who is one of the most influential Palomino thoroughbred stallions of all time, and made his mark by producing very successful hunters and dressage horses!  Gold Finnishs dam (Irish Corker) held up through a very long racing career (103 starts), so that helps add to Finns durability!  Finns full sister (April Fool's Gold) was Horse of the Year in 2006 for her accomplishments in hunter breeding!

These photos of Gold Finish are from when he was shown on the line as a yearling/long yearling--

The two pics below are from Finns first show, less than 1 month u/s!

Below are some photos of Finn from his baby video, taken at Symmetry Ranch.

Storm Fortune- 2006 Sabino Chestnut Filly (Stockings, belly spots etc)

Fabulous mover, with tons of suspension and elasticity not often found in race bred thoroughbreds. Super sweet personality, and extremely easy to train!

We bought this young lady from a trainer at Charlestown, WV. Thankfully she had not been running while there, and was at a local barn working on the treadmil and swimming.. We are excited about this young girls future!

Eternal Light-  Jockey club registered, 17h bay mare.

ET is a big gorgeous mare, with fantastic movement and a very kind temperment! She has a long ground covering stride, and a lot of extra suspension. We have purchased ET as a future show horse and broodmare, and will be bred to Gold Finish in 2010!
